Free Legal Workshop – May 7th
Plenty of legal beagles will be in attendance at next week’s free legal workshop over in Jersey City
Law Day 2008
The Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson Vicinage, in partnership with the Hudson County Bar Association and the Criminal Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns, will host Court Night in honor of Law Day 2008. This free legal workshop, which is open to residents of Hudson County, will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, at the Justice William J. Brennan Courthouse, 583 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“We look forward to Court Night as an opportunity to help the public better understand the work of the courts and the services that we can provide,” said Assignment Judge Maurice J. Gallipoli. “Our highly qualified panelists will offer a wealth of information to self-represented litigants, consumers, students and interested citizens who want to learn more about their court system.”
The program will provide information on immigration, landlord/tenant disputes, domestic violence, divorce, child support, and expungements of criminal records. For each session, a panel of judges, court staff and attorneys will present the legal and practical aspects concerning the subject matter and then answer questions from the audience. As this is an informational workshop only, no personal cases can be discussed or resolved.
The seminar is free; however, those wishing to attend should make a reservation by calling CariAnn Rizzolo at 201-217-5109 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Callers should indicate first and second choice of informational session, as well as their name, telephone number and what time of day would be best for them to receive a confirmation call regarding their registration.
