Opening tonight is a new movie called The Longest Ride.
“The Longest Ride centers on the star-crossed love affair between Luke, a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia, a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke make an unexpected and feateful connection with Ira, whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire the young couple. Spanning generations and two intertwining love stories, THE LONGEST RIDE explores the challenges and infinite rewards of enduring love.”
At first – when I began watching the trailer – I thought “Oh no – another one of these…”, but as I saw how they connected days past with modern times – I actually have faith that this might be a good story (provided they don’t screw around with “revisionist” history). Because I think that people can learn much from the past that others endured. And (from the trailer at least) I think that this might have a chance at opening the eyes of many people in this world who expect way too much from others. And I like the “co-mingling” type of script this flick appears to have. In fact, it’s possible I might pony up the bucks to see this “first run!”
