Want to save some Boxer puppies?

3/4/2008:

I normally only like to post “sad puppies need a home” entries that are in Hoboken or the immediate vicinity.

But I’d feel horrible if I didn’t at least try because “these dogs will die soon if no one helps.” They’re located west of the Allentown, PA area (about 2 or so hour drive). Contact Marcy at Mostly Mutts if you have a heart. 610-380-6491 (home) or 570-374-0330 (shelter).

I checked Snopes.com first before posting it, in case you’re wondering if it’s yet another email spam attack.

“These boxer mix puppies are going to be put to sleep in the next day or two if someone doesn’t step up to help them. I don’t have any more info than what is listed below. The puppies are in the Reading/Allentown PA area. Please post to save these sweet puppies.

The adoption fee would be $150 -that includes the neuter, and transport up here, and the worming/shots etc… I’ll try to get the info regarding when they would have to be put down.”

shelters can only keep dogs for so long, and then, sadly, they have to put them down. dogs are very expensive to care for with vet bills, food, attention they need, etc etc. i’m sure they did all they can, and i’m glad they got the word out.

I was getting ready to dial, but… :(
i called a second time to be sure. that’s how bad i wanted these little pups. it’s rare to get puppies like that at a shelter, i wonder why they had a hard time adopting them that it got to the point of 2 days before they would have to put them down.
thank god, i almost just cried.

why would someone put down such gorgeous young puppies?? i just don’t get why these kill shelters don’t try harder.

thanks anyway 411 for trying. :)
kill shelters? do you know what shelters go through? jeez. i’ll apologize in advance but GET A CLUE. shelters are expensive to operate, and they have to get the word out every time they get strays, neglected dogs, dogs that were abused by owners, or dogs that were given up because they were “trouble” dogs.

my uncle adopted a “trouble” dog in central PA. trouble? he was a 1.5 year old dog with a lot of energy. that was the “trouble”. couple months of training and lots of daily walks, and this dog is a great dog that listens and behaves for the most part. the trouble was with the lazy ass owners that didn’t want to train him.

if you really think what you call “kill shelters” should “try harder”, maybe you should help out by volunteering time, donating much needed money, serving as a “foster” home, so they have room to take more animals, or, adopt a dog instead of buying from pet stores or breeders.

sorry, i just get disgusted, because these shelters are doing SO MUCH with SO LITTLE.

20,000 dogs are euthanized annually in new york city.
