Dense Fog

Dense fog not always what you think in Hoboken

When I saw the “dense fog” advisories for the Hoboken area today, I immediately became concerned that there would be yet another mind-numbing staged political event out of city hall again.

Boy was I relieved when it was just a plain ‘ole weather forecast.

But the cool thing about dense fog in a (densely) populated area like NYC – is it briefly gives you the feeling that you’re not surrounded by millions of nincompoops. Even though you know they’re there, the fog lets you fantasize for a moment.

Then the fog clears, and you’re back to reality. Maybe we’ll have a few big blizzards this year. The quiet that comes with those seems to last longer than a morning fog.

GUESS WHAT? It was both. Had you been to the meeting where the $680,000/yr property assessment firm explained how their model with its new $125,000 annual contract worked against our long term residents best interest. There was Ms. Zimmer their to claim that the model was accurate. Look up the definition of model it has no relation to accuracy.
