2/22/2008:

I took these pictures about 3-4 hours ago when I was out with Oscar, but it seems like another inch or two has fallen since! Locations (for those not living in Hoboken) are: 11th and Washington (near Maxwell’s), Maxwell Place, Sinatra Drive, and Elysian Park.

How was your commute this morning anyway? Nothing to get too alarmed about, right? Just a minor inconvenience, that’s all.

But the National Weather Service upgraded the storm watch to a warning:

MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. THE SNOW WILL THEN CHANGE OVER TO A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING…BEFORE TAPERING TO A MIXTURE OF LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS AND PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE BY MIDNIGHT. THIS WILL PRODUCE AN ADDITIONAL TENTH TO A QUARTER INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION ON TOP OF
THE SNOW.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL MAKE FOR A TREACHEROUS MORNING AND EVENING COMMUTE.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW… SLEET… AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.

Why do they use ALL CAPS?

Enjoy your day!
