It will NEVER be “your team!”

Sports, Bread and Circus – Should you even care? It’s not your team!

When the Yankees lost to the Diamondbacks back in 2001 – that was the tipping point (or the start of a better, more fulfilling life) for me. I still cannot believe that I actually became “emotional” that “my team” lost. Slowly but surely since then, professional sports have been completely eradicated from my life (with the exception of some leftover Yankee hats).

Let this video below serve as a reminder that whatever “camp” you’re in, and for whatever reasons – these over-payed “sporting” entertainment spectacles rely on YOU to pay for tickets, merchandise, apparel and more. But it will NEVER be “your team.” Not today. Not tomorrow. Not EVER.

So what are these drunk boneheads fighting over? What are they “defending” exactly? How can you have “pride” in something that doesn’t belong to you in any way, shape or form? Look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question. Perhaps it’ll all go away one day and we can get back to our roots as individuals.

Being a fan of a sports team means you are a fan of collectivism and anti-freedom and liberty.

My gf refers to her alma mater’s basketball team using first person pronouns. “We’re going up against so and so” and so on. She’s not a recent graduate.

The irony is lost on her when I remind her that most of the players are hired guns, kids with abysmal academics that would otherwise have no business being there. “That might be true of schools like North Carolina but not (her school)” she’ll counter. Uh huh.

I think these people are the type to fight about anything when drunk. Sports or not.
