More information surfaces about the SWAT team / Hooters scandal.
The report tonight on FOX 5 News, showed a video that showed the girls of the Louisiana trip many Hoboken police officers went on. It even started with the SWAT team logo, and featured the “Girls, Girls, Girls” song from Motley Crew.
Reporter John Deutzman also produced a letter from Mark Competello, saying by having the police visit Kenner, LA, “it created a dangerous public safety situation” and that “manpower was low in Hoboken,” which was a risk for the city.
Additionally, it appears that many of the officers were reported absent at work, because they received two additional weeks off “comp time” from Chief LaBruno (yeah, vacations are exhausting.)
Deutzman also cited the Firearms Rules each officer has to sign twice a year, indicating that they will under no circumstances hand their weapons over to any person other than another officer. Afterward, they showed yet another video from the “thank you” dinner in Kenner, where Lt. Andriani, was shown handing his gun (and bullets) around to citizens at the party. LaBruno was also seen laughing and chuckling.
Lt. Andriani, claims his house is now up for sale, has received death threats, and his “reputation” has been destroyed.

Yup, the very same. And the same cops that ambushed me when I forgot to show up to court for an innocuous traffic violation last year- 2 cops banged on my door at 6 am, (I believe Russo’s little brother was one of the cops), held up a warrant for my arrest, took me away in handkuffs, then kept me waiting at the station handkuffed to a table for over 3 and a half hours. I had the cash to be released, but for some unknown reason they held me there, said they had to “finish the paperwork”. Compare that to Campos REPEATED No-Shows for his serious DUI offense, and all he gets is a new court date… it’s fucking abuse of power. And for law-abiding citizens of Hoboken like myself, it’s an outrage.

There are some facts missing from your story. I do not recall any of my clients ever getting arrested by warrant for a traffic court violation. Usually it is a bench warrant. You probably left out the fact that you are a felon or had some other skeleton in the closet.

Nope, no skeletons. Never been arrested before in my life, had one outstanding parking ticket at the time of my ambush, and this was the first court date I was to appear at. A lawyer friend of mine told me I should go to Police Internal Affairs and report this, but seeing how the entire HPD seems to be (and this SWAT fiasco just proves this) just one big good ole boys club, I thought this would get me nowhere. If you know differently, please advise.

It’s interesting, Serpico Russo tracks you down and gets you out of bed and takes you to jail. Where was that crack police work when his old man was stealing $300K from the taxpayers of this town?
More Importantly, where was Chief Labruno when that was going on? The Feds didn’t have any problem finding it out and making it stick. I guess Super Chief was too busy daydreaming of nubile young women.
This whole thing is going to be swept under the rug until the FEDS are involved just like Papa Doc Russo’s criminal conduct would have been if the FEDS hadn’t gotten involved. The people in power in this town can’t be trusted, period.

bri777, exactly. This is why they jumped to put their man Bergen in to “investigate”. I couldn’t believe this wasn’t ruled a conflict of interest, amazing. Beth Mason spoke out in concern over this, and, yet again, they cut her down.
