Jersey City Mayor Fulop gives Stevens Keynote Address {in Hoboken}

Zimmer “tags along” – will be “on hand…”

Jeez – this tells you something, doesn’t it? Stevens Institute of Technology is back in session, boasting their largest group of new undergraduates in their storied history (800). And among these newly accepted students, you have several National Merit Finalists, some “All-American” athletic recruits, a professional actor and a budding brain that was featured in Popular Science magazine.

That’s all great, but who did they invite to “welcome” this new group of aspiring students here in Hoboken?

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop.

The event is happening at 1:30pm up at the Canavan Arena in the middle of campus. (Was previously scheduled to begin at 1pm.)

But do we have to?

Not to be completely rude, they felt forced to invited Hoboken “mayor” Don Zimmer to tag along (i.e., “also be on hand…” doing what? Serving drinks?)

To further illustrate the huge level of respect they gave to our “gal” – they even screwed her last name up in the media alert.

I guess their line of thinking when preparing the document was: “Zimmer or Zimmerman? Don or Dawn? Meh, doesn’t really matter. Whatever sounds best!” If I were her, I’d politely decline.

Anyway, good luck to all the new “Ducks” in Hoboken!
