Hoboken Commuter Corner

Much like the Rant Corner and Rave Corner where pretty much anything goes, this section will be for general commuting and transportation issues in Hoboken.

Got stuck on the PATH? Had a horrific cab ride? Ferry capsized? This is the spot.

Anything from complaints, service interruptions, schedule changes, fare increases and other hot topics. So what is it today?

Is it me, or has the downtown morning service on the 126 dropped off a cliff lately? I’ve ended up just giving up and walking downtown everyday this week. Seems that all I’m seeing go by is an endless parade “Not In Service” buses.

It’s not you. I’ve been having to wait at least twenty minutes in the morning this past week, as opposed to no more than five over the last few months when leaving at exactly the same time. Yes!! Service the past few weeks has been atrocious! There have been long lines at every bus stop and the buses are chock full. People can barely get in and out. It’s ridiculous. Everyone I speak to at my bus stop has certainly noticed, and is getting more and more frustrated. And, yes, in the meantime there is an endless parade of “no passenger” buses going by. Can anyone confirm if Sky Club Gym employees can use the Sky Club shuttle to go from the gym to the Path? I’ve heard mixed feedback. I’m interviewing for a position at the gym this week and am trying to understand my transportation options since I live closer to the Path. It is an easy walk but I do not feel comfortable walking at night in the dark, and I will most likely be working until 8pm.

Not joking….Like I already said, I’ve heard mixed feedback. The people at the front desk of the gym said yes, but the person at the front desk of the condo building said no. Try to contact the operator of the shuttle bus to see if there is such a thing as an “employee pass”.
