No Hoboken Fireworks watching – now what?

No Hoboken Fireworks on Hudson River MacysFor the past several years, Hoboken was “honored” to be one of the visual participants of the Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular.

But due to “social pressure,” the pansies at Macy’s have re-located the fireworks back to the East River this year. Which means that Hoboken will not be a so-called “destination” for said fireworks until they bring them back to the Hudson!

That is both good and bad.

Bad for local bars, as the influx of out-of-towners definitely helped. But at the same time, it’s great because the traffic log-jam will not be an issue tomorrow. “Go about your merry way, drunk revelers!” I suppose it might benefit city coffers too, because “party people” will more easily be busted because cops aren’t tied up on “traffic detail…”

Either way – if you use your external brain (i.e., “Google”) you can find plenty of local fireworks displays not only tomorrow but other days this weekend as well. I wonder where we will check some out?

Have a happy “Independence Day” tomorrow – and hope you understand what it (meant) and what it (means today) as well! Chop Chop!

By the way, here’s one of my favorite “accidental” videos I’ve ever made. I did something unknowingly in my video editor that made the (burst photography) come out quite nicely. If someone can clue me in as to what I actually (accidentally) did, that would help me make more of these some time soon! Otherwise – this is “what was but no longer is” in Hoboken… have a incident-free weekend everyone!

Enjoy!
