First Holy Communions in Hoboken
Saints Peter & Paul First Holy Communions
Here’s some positive upbeat news! Over the past several weekends, 30 children have received their first Holy Communion at Ss Peter & Paul in Hoboken. In a traditionally festive setting, the first communicants were greeted by families and friends and welcomed by the entire community. First Holy Communions remain a special occasion for families as girls are dressed in white dresses and boys usually dress in formal wear – an occasion for many parents to realize the next time they see their child in a similar outfit might be to walk them down the aisle!
The large number of children receiving their First Communion marks once again the vitality of the parish in nurturing a strong faith formation program and being active within the greater community. The First Holy Communions come just a few months after the inauguration of Ss Peter and Paul’s Family Chapel – a space built to better accommodate the growing number of children attending liturgies, which is currently being decorated by the children.
