Friday Video Gallery – Fun & Reality

Now that our nice slow week is concluding (along with our snow) – below are some Hoboken411 Video Picks to help you kill some time this afternoon. We got a few today, ranging from fun, to ridiculous and down to reality.

Mainstream “news” is scripted

If you still don’t believe most of the “news” stories out there are scripted propaganda – then this ought to shine some light on that…

Bread & Circus: Today’s “celebrity”

I love this guy Mark Dice. He makes brilliant videos which pretty much show how friggin’ stupid most people in America are. I’m sure you’ve seen some of them. But this video talking about the next celebrity “Idol” Kendall Jenner (I had no idea who she was until I saw this video thank God) is hilarious. The verbiage he repeatedly uses makes it clear what he thinks of all this “bread & circus” nonsense which is distracting all the sheep.

Not as real as you’ve been led to believe

This video from marketing corp Victors & Spoils parodizes how fake most print images of “pretty” women are. But they mocked themselves in the spirit of this past Christmas holiday:

Why Fight? – Alan Watts

Finally, some serious (good) stuff. One of my favorite “philosphers” is the late Alan Watts. If you ever have fears or worries about the unknown, his books will ground you and help you live a more fulfilling life. Regardless, here’s a great video about why the world is in constant turmoil and filled with war & violence. You really out to check Alan Watts out if you haven’t already. But his concepts may be way too hard for younger people to comprehend. Almost impossible, I’d suspect.

And here’s another great speech he did. “The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple, and yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.”

Enjoy your first weekend of 2014!
