   Had a bad experience with FedEx recently. Family member thought we were living in a doorman building or at least one with a lobby. They sent a package (2-3 day delivery) without asking for signature. So FedEx came and “left the package on the street”. Yes, that’s their quote using their tracking system. Of course we didn’t see a package outside our door nor did we get a sticker. We had to call FedEx and bitch about it. Never got the final word from them but at least we got the package a week later. Why “leaving package on the street” is an option for the driver is beyond me.

   i’ve never seen that happen with a fedex package in hoboken and i ship with them every chance i have a choice. oh well. shit happens. at least they took care of it quickly.

   DHL made my wife go downstairs in an elevator building – guy said they don’t come to the apartment.

   UPS just throws shit all over the place and their customer service is horrible.

   the fedex truck is actually 1 better than UPS (usually the case with fedex vs UPS). if fedex fails to deliver your package, they automatically leave it at the truck (i think it’s from 6-8pm). i always check the tracking info and if the delivery was attempted, i just stop at the truck when i get off the path. he’s always parked right by the post office, but i think he moved up 1 street since the last time i picked up a package.

   FYI the truck no longer stops anymore, you have to go to the FedEx Kinkos. Like I said, i am not sure if they do it automatically or not, but I am positive the truck isn’t used anymore.

   i’m assuming they send it to kinkos automatically since that is what they did with the truck.

   They UPS guy who delivers to my building after 5pm is a real sweetheart! He’s youngish (30′s) and very, very nice. The morning delivery guy ALWAYS leaves a mess, but he’s nice too.
