Pamela Ross and friends present Popsical Music at Hudson School

Violinist: Christina Bouey has been hailed by the New York Times for playing “beautifully,” by the New York Post, which wrote “when violinist Christina Bouey spun out that shimmering tune, I thought I died and went to heaven,” and by Opera News for playing “with exquisite, quivering beauty.” Among her awards and prizes are the Hugo Kortchak Award for outstanding achievement in chamber music, the Canadian National Music Festival, the Queens Concerto Competition (NYC), and the Balsam Duo Competition. Christina has performed as soloist with the Prince Edward Island
Symphony, Shattered Glass in New York and the Hemenway Strings in Boston. Her solo and chamber performance credits include Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Harvard Club of New York. Christina had the privilege of playing the role of the Demonic Violinist in the musical “Heaven and Hell,” which had its world premiere at the Boston Conservatory Music Festival. She has degrees from Boston Conservatory of Music and Manhattan School of music. Christina is also a seasoned coloratura and has won many prizes for her vocal expertise.

Cellist: Michael Midlarsky has performed extensively as a chamber musician and soloist over the course of his career. He received his Masters of Music as a Collins Distinguished Fellow from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music. He has won numerous awards and distinctions including the Howard Hanson and Linda van Voorhies Awards for study at the Eastman School, the National School Orchestra Soloist Award, Queens College Cultural Heritage Competition, NJ American String Teachers’ Association Competition, East Brunswick Orchestra Competition, and prizewinner in the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra Competition. Michael has premiered many new works as well as recorded for the Naxos, Innovo, New Dynamics, Heavenly Records, and NBC labels. He has collaborated with great artists across the entire musical spectrum, from John Cale and Guy Berryman (Coldplay), to Osvaldo Golijov and Mark O’Connor. He is currently on the music faculty of the St. Ann’s School in Brooklyn.

Violist: Isabel Hagen is an active chamber musician and avid performer of new music. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree .Isabel is co-principal violist of the Juilliard Orchestra and has performed with new music ensembles such as Alarm Will Sound, Ensemble Signal, American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), and the Wordless Music Orchestra. A member of the Kleio Quartet, Isabel has appeared in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, BAM, and le Poisson Rouge. A two-time recipient of Rosemary Glyde Scholarships given by the New York Viola Society, Isabel also enjoys singing in many styles, and received vocal training while attending the pre-college division of the Juilliard School.

Pianist: Pamela Ross is a Hoboken-based pianist/actress/writer whose award winning one woman shows have had long runs Off Broadway and in theatres and performing arts venues around the world. She has appeared as soloist with major orchestras and is a recording artist with several widely distributed CDs and DVDs. Many of her programs can be seen on public television, the Arts & Entertainment Television Network, and heard regularly on classical radio stations. Miss Ross has been on the faculty of several universities, and is presently teaching in the Department of Music Technology at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken.
