Kings Celebrates 1-year renovation anniversary in Hoboken, NJ
Starting tomorrow, Kings Food Markets uptown is hosting a weekend-long tasting event in “honor” of its one year anniversary since debuting a newly inspired North Hoboken store in 2012.
The event will feature signature tastings as well as an exclusive demonstration and book giveaway from Hoboken-based chef and co-author of Fifty Shades of Kale, Jennifer Iserloh.

Kicking off the celebration, President & CEO, Judy Spires and COO Rich Durante will cut a celebratory cake for store employees and shoppers in honor of the anniversary. Kings will also mark the occasion by kicking off a two-week food drive collecting supplies for the Hoboken Shelter, which provides food, shelter and skill-building workshops for those who are homeless. Kings has a long history of supporting the shelter, to which it recently donated a significant amount of kale, a nutrient-rich superfood which helps the shelter provide much needed nutrition to its members.
Shoppers who attend the weekend-long celebration will have the opportunity to taste their way through the store with samplings from all of Kings Food Markets’ departments, including items such as: Heavenly’s light and delicious soufflé, Twin Hen’s all natural pot pie, and Kurobuta’s succulent and juicy Berkshire Ham. Every day, however, customers can choose from the highest quality meats, freshest and largest selection of organic produce, “top of the catch” seafood and unique finds for which Kings Food Markets is known. Tastings will be available from 11am to 4pm each day this weekend.
And customers who join Kings this Friday & Saturday between 11am – 1pm will also have an opportunity to meet local chef and co-author of 50 Shades of Kale, Jennifer Iserloh. Chef Iserloh will giveaway signed copies of her best-selling book while supplies last and provide samples of her kale risotto and kale salads. Iserloh is also known for the famous Skinny Chef line of sauces.
