Elysian Park in Hoboken upgraded for 2014

Elysian Park Hoboken NJ updated 2014See photos in the gallery below of how the Elysian Park upgrades are coming along. Once the grass is installed, it should be almost complete.

Residents are offering mixed feelings, although they are mostly happy with the new equipment and infrastructure. Although some people said to me they felt Elysian Park got “nicer” equipment than the other park upgrades in town because of “the rich people” who live nearby. I still feel the big fence around the basketball court can make one claustrophobic, but it was probably necessary since they re-graded it and now has “dangerous” ledge.

Maybe one day in Hoboken we can have a nice open park – that is just grass and trees. Costs the property taxpayer a lot less in the long run.

Actually the biggest park in town is nothing more than grass and trees. Pier A. It’s on the River at First St or those who apparently forgot it is there or have never been. Nothing like complaining about improving our run down parks.

A park rather than a gymboree is best for a public land supported by local taxes.
