Over the Edge for the American Cancer Society for thrill-seekers
What do I have to do?
Rappelling is easy! Register online. Personalize your page. Get your friends, family, and co-workers to donate. Raise the minimum $1500. Take a deep breath to calm those nerves. Show up on the day of the event and get ready to have some fun!
Why should I actually go through with this?
Because you want to go Over the Edge for the American Cancer Society. Because you are a thrill-seeker. Because you’re jealous you couldn’t do it last year. Because you are the real Spiderman. Because you know someone affected by cancer. Because you never want anyone to have to hear the words “you have cancer.” Because the money you raise will help fund groundbreaking research to find a cure for cancer.
Where and when?
Harborside Financial Center, Plaza 5 – June 21-22, 2013
ABOUT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end cancer for good. As a global grassroots force of three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping you stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early, helping you get well by being there for you during and after a diagnosis, by finding cures through groundbreaking discovery and fighting back through public policy. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing about $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have hadcancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year. To learn more about us or to get help, call us any time, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
