Liberal Bench Graffiti

Who writes this liberal bench graffiti in Hoboken anyway?

Hoboken Photo of the Day Hoboken411 Liberal Bench Graffiti - Liberal Bench GraffitiIf you walk around Hoboken even just a little bit, you’re bound to notice some utterly odd, random graffiti scribbled on some surface.

In this particular instance – it’s some relatively new bench seating along the uptown riverfront walkway which connects to Weehawken.

The graffiti (written in what appears to be wide Sharpie marker) proclaimed a very strange assortment of words…

  • First bench: “USA” (appeared to be blocked out using that banned circle), “Obama,” and then “Black,”
  • Second bench: “Osamo,” “Osama,” “NYC,” and “Washington, D.C.”

This makes no sense to me. It’s either the byproduct of a severely indoctrinated and psychotropically medicated young 20-ish person, or a purely deranged individual (synonymous actually). Why people feel the need to treat the rest of their world as their “canvas” is beyond me.

What “satisfaction” does someone like this get? Those marks could likely be erased with some hard core sanding. But considering these are public places, it will cost property taxpayers money to rectify the damage.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself: Do you see society devolving faster than you imagined? What is your plan for the future?

How do you know it’s not “conservative” graffiti? Maybe it’s even libertarian graffiti because they don’t think it’s the government’s place to be spending money on benches.

My theory is that a member of the Whig Party did it.
