How is that Hoboken dating service going?

If you’re in school, there are all kinds of clubs and social events. If you’re at work, you just keep your eyes open and be friendly and polite. If you’re at neither, get your s**t together or hang out at 3rd and Bloomfield between 5 and 7pm before the doors open for dinner.

Time Out New York lists free events every week in several different categories; I don’t know whether the library has it, but it’s not too expensive.

Hobby and volunteer clubs… running, reading, tutoring, EMS, political action, to name a few… you got a million places on the Internet to meet people… hobokencafe sends me an email every so often which I ignore because 90% of the events are for singles.

Here’s a place to check: Symposia Bookstore, the one on 5th/Washington — they host some of the hobokencafe events. They used to have a board game night one Saturday a month. I don’t know whether they do that, but even if they don’t, maybe they need a volunteer in the bookstore and you could meet a lot of people that way and bide your time until the weather is warmer for outdoor hanging out.
I’ve got to ask, where do those of us who are under 21 go to pick up… well you know? I live independently, and it’s ridiculous how hard it is to find a date without going to bars… though just a bar with non-corporate types that’s lax about carding’d be nice
Maxwells allows people under 21 into shows. As for that, I guess you’re stuck with coffee shops and Stevens frat parties.

bars off of washington earlier in the day dont card if you actually look over 21. Look young and everyone cards.

Every bar cards in this town. When the movie theater opens up later this year, you can loiter around there. Or you can hang out around the bars and hit on drunken chicks when they stagger out. Other than that, I’d say you’re out of luck!
