Hudson Tea as it floods

Water rose fast in Hoboken during Hurricane Sandy

Hoboken resident Kristin captured exactly how quickly water rose during Hurricane Sandy near the Hudson Tea Building uptown.

At one point, the Hoboken Fire Department had their ladder truck stationed in the circle in front of the building – but quickly moved it as flood waters rose in a matter of minutes – leading to the widespread destruction around the city. Still makes you wonder if our waterfront walkways are too low – and if higher retaining walls should be considered before parks and swing sets.

Hey – is that Eli Manning looking at the flood waters in the after picture?
