Board of Education Election

Have Hoboken schools improved over the past four years?

The Hoboken Board of Education is quite possible one of the most wretched places anyone would want to be. The political in-fighting and lack of professionalism is an embarrassment to the city.

And more importantly – people calling themselves “reformers” (Kids First) seem to have delivered only empty promises and propaganda, considering how Hoboken’s school system consistently ranks amongst the worst. And not trending positively from what I’ve seen from reports.

That said – below is a TV spot the three candidates (Liz Markevitch, Anthony Oland and Felice Vazquez) from Move Forward Hoboken are running, which simplifies the situation our declining school system is in.

Would you vote for the same? Or fresh blood to invigorate real progress for our kids?

It wasn’t surprising in the least to see there was more to Mintuillo’s non appearance as a candidate for the BOE. And anything that Nancy Pincus supports is also worthless. The State results in testing doesn’t lie, and our children are basically LAST in State results. For this I blame “The Kids First” policies in place AND supported by Zimmer. I voted for CHANGE and supported THE MOVE FORWARD HOBOKEN POLICY of Oland, Markevith, and Vasqes which are the letters N, O AND P on the BOE BALLLOT. Everyone here is paying for their education and our children deserve only the best. It’s plain and simple, the Kids Firest Policies DID NOT WORK.
