2007 Hoboken Charter School Healthy Choices Health Fair
In celebration of the ten year anniversary of Hoboken Charter School and as part of a year-long commitment to help students and the greater community to become healthy, reflective, critical decision makers, the school is sponsoring the 2007 Hoboken Charter School Healthy Choices Health Fair on Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Frank Sinatra Park, at 4th Street and Sinatra Drive in Hoboken, NJ. The fair has been selected as a signature event of the National Serve and Serve Challenge, by the National Service-Learning Partnership, and has received a Sharing the Dream grant, of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).

The event will provide information, resources, and demonstrations that promote “healthy choices” in a wide range of areas including nutrition, medicine, physical fitness, recreation, intellectual, finance, and personal safety. Over 20 organizations are participating, including health care providers, fitness clubs, financial institutions, and healthy food and drink producers. The event will feature workout sessions, chess tournaments, and an assortment of booths covering topics ranging from flu awareness to personal investing. FREE health screenings regarding Diabetes, dental, cholesterol, and blood pressure will also be available to the public.

Thank you Hoboken Charter School for all of your hard work in putting this Fair together.


I think Pete from the Hoboken Chess Club comes to every event in Hoboken that involves kids.

One might argue that you could make a “healthy choice” to exercise your mind with a game of chess instead of sitting in front of the TV playing video games.

I don’t know.


Not to be negative, but a chess tournament? I don’t see how that fits.

I would expect something more Aerobic.
