GWB headaches

George Washington Bridge delays for months

Anyone that uses the George Washington Bridge, whether for commuting or just for sporadic visits to Manhattan will likely want to avoid it – as construction on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge which started this past weekend is projected to cause massive traffic backups on the Jersey side until October.

Wonder if this will cause spillover congestion at both the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels – and even additional cross-traffic in Hoboken?

NY Waterway is also encouraging travelers to use their ferries as a quick and easy way into NYC (along with the free shuttle bus service).

Have you noticed that over the past few years – the entire area seems to be in a perpetual state of construction or repair? I don’t recall it ever being this bad!

Yeah, you’re right. We’re better off waiting for roads and bridges to collapse before having to suffer through construction traffic. These things deteriorate over the years. Welcome to the real world.
