Subway testing out Creamy Sriracha Sauce (a Hoboken411 idea)

Back in May of last year – Hoboken411 shared this low carb recipe (click to read).

It was essentially a “creamy Sriracha sauce,” and made ours using fresh Ricotta (which is interchangeable with Sour Cream as well – specifically for salads).

Well – apparently the marketing crew at Subway must read this site – because now they’re testing a “Creamy Sriracha Sauce” themselves in certain markets. Apparently just California and Florida (those states are chain-store wastelands). And I can almost bet that if a chain store is making it – it’s loaded with artificial ingredients as well. So if you want to see out great it really tastes – you’ll just have to make it yourself!

A few weeks ago, we talked about how Ricotta cheese and berries was delightful and fulfilling dessert for those living the low carb life.

However, Ricotta cheese isn’t limited to just desserts!

Spicy Low Carb Ricotta Cheese Recipe

The other day, I found myself a bit hungry later in the night – and realized the fridge was mostly empty. I checked the freezer and found a bag of Trader Joe’s grilled chicken strips – but that was almost too much protein alone, and needed something fatty to bring the meal to proper (low-carb) spec. I rummaged around and had some ricotta cheese – but needed to experiment to make the snack more interesting. And this is how we arrived at a wonderful discovery.

Just take some ricotta cheese, and a healthy amount of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce and stir vigorously. If you enjoy extra spice – throw in a tablespoon of Huy Fong Chili Garlic too (it gave it nice kick).

Dipping the chicken pieces in this concoction was wonderfully satisfying, and you’ll want to whip this out frequently with your low carb meals (you won’t overeat!)

I actually tried this tonight and was very happy. I made improvised turkey taquitos. Spread the mixture on turkey slices and rolled them up. Hit the spot perfectly.
