What? We have responsible drunks?

Some drunks are not so bad in Hoboken, NJ

As you saw this week already – a good majority of drunks meandering around Hoboken just have no friggin’ clue.

They destroy gorgeous flowers, and leave remnants of their alcohol-infused food-binges all over our streets and sidewalks.

However, whomever gobbled up this box of pizza did the right thing. They properly disposed of their waste! Amazing but true! (Editorial note: Our society is at the end of the rope when we celebrate common sense and decency.)

“a good majority of drunks”

That’s quite the bold statement there. You mean to tell me that more than half of the thousands of people that drink in Hoboken on a weekly basis are out there vandalizing and littering in our streets? Were that the case Hoboken would be some sort of war zone, when in reality this is a minor inconvenience at best.

I used to live in Missouri and boy was that land reckless. I could go on and on of our tales, some of which may or may not have landed me in the clink over night…but I digress. I think leaving a pizza box on a street corner is a minimal offense and we have bigger fish to complain about. Why do you have to assume that every act of vandalism is performed by someone who is intoxicated? Let’s not forget there are young kids that live in this town too! There is a high school full of them, and some of them stay out later than many people I know who are legally allowed to drink and frequent bars. Anyone ever stop to think that the destroyed flowers or garbage could be from them acting out????
