(Isn’t their a fake wooden owl on the roof – garage on left?)

I wonder if they got their message across. Wouldn’t be surprised if they purchased a crashed up car from the junk yard and perched it on top of the roof for added emphasis of consequence.
Actually wooden owls ward off birds — and eliminate bird sh*t…..

Anyone can post a sign, but only the city can enforce . Notice that the city also painted the curb yellow. Also, I believe there are some city owned signs on the sidewalk that also say no parking. As there are curb cuts and parking garages on that block, the city has designated that a no parking zone. I think the yahoo on Jefferson is just being an ass.

I used to rent the apartment on the top floor there. Mrs. Daliani, nice old Italian lady born and raised in Hoboken.

Really, you want to heed those warnings because while she’s very nice she doesn’t take any crap from *anyone*, she’s elderly, but she’s sharp. Add to the fact that she knows everyone in town and can make a phone call have your car impounded, crushed and left at your doorstep all in one afternoon.

Some young guys moved into the basement apartment across the street. They partied a lot which is fine, since they kept it to the weekends. Then it became all week long, people hanging outside, pissing on the tree in front, breaking/leaving bottles on the sidewalk. I mentioned it to her, she doesn’t hear well so she was unaware. Next day, she tells me she knows their parents and decided to take a walk down to the pizzeria they own, and let them know what their kids were up to – “They’ll take care of it”. All activity in that apartment stopped. I actually kinda felt bad about it. I guess someone wasn’t too old to get an ass whuppin’.

Perhaps you should enlist Mrs. Daliani in the effort to fix the flooding problem? She could call everyone on the city council and give them a talking to they will never forget. 😀

I guess anyone can post whatever sign they want on their own property. Take a look at the clown on the 700 block of Jefferson that posts “No Parking” signs in front of his cyclone fenced, astro-turfed front yard. If anyone dares to park in front of this utopia, he tapes bright orange signs on your windshield advising that “next time” you will be towed. I’d like to see him try…
