2/22/2012 Update:

Hoboken411 reader Max sent in this photo of workers inside the 300 Washington Street fire scene.

As you know – the “Avenue” has been a traffic headache – and has re-routed NJ Transit Buses.

Fire at 300 Washington in Hoboken – The Day After

Here’s a unique shot from Hoboken411 reader David – which details exactly what the building destroyed by fire at 300 Washington St. looked like the next day after the sun came up.

Hopefully, the next building that goes up is constructed better, and has central fire sprinklers to prevent such devastation.

I must say, Hoboken could be onto something here as having the two blocks barricaded off is VERY nice……..It could be our new “Green Space Pedestrian Plaza!”

i admired that building on a daily basis. such a gorgeous architectural gem… i hope they can salvage some of the character and recreate it staying true to the era and the craftsmanship… i really hope it doesn’t become a cookie-cutter condo like 80% of them west of here…
