Liston bails on Hoboken
Arch Liston quits as Hoboken Biz Administrator
As of last night’s Hoboken City Council Meeting – Business Administrator Arch Liston submitted his resignation. While the press release from the city below indicates an amicable justification, Hoboken411 is hearing otherwise.
Sources say that Liston was telling people that Dawn Zimmer’s shadow Mayor & husband Stan Grossbard, as well as Parking Director Ian Sacs “are out of control,” and that they’re essentially dooming the current administration.
Additionally, Zimmer is in hot water with the testimony she’s fumbling on regarding improper staff layoffs.
Liston is still set to testify in February – current city employee or not.
Perhaps it was a smart move to bail? Get out before it gets too hot?
Also – you might want to be on the lookout for “ring-leader” Michael Lenz possibly getting back on the radar here in the Mile Square…
Mayor Zimmer announces search for new Business Administrator
(City press release)
“Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced that Business Administrator Arch Liston will be relocating back to South Jersey for family reasons. He advised Mayor Zimmer of his decision yesterday, and the City is initiating a search for a replacement. Director Liston has agreed to stay on for the next few months during the search and transition period.
“Director Liston has played an enormous role in reforming Hoboken government and improving the lives of our community,” said Mayor Zimmer. “He guided us through major contract negotiations, helped root out corruption, streamlined City government, and has been key to reducing taxes for two years in a row. I am so thankful for his service to Hoboken.”
