Las Olas Sushi Bar & Grill

Las Olas Sushi Bar & Grill – 1319 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ

Las Olas Sushi Bar Hoboken New Jersey - Las Olas Sushi Bar & GrillThe previous owners of the uptown Sushi House sold their restaurant – and the happy new owners recently unveiled Las Olas Sushi Bar & Lounge at 1319 Washington Street.

The owners of Las Olas (which means “the waves”) have presented a unique fusion of sushi with a hint of Latin flavor. Besides the standard rolls and other sushi entrees, the menu also has fun items like Tuna Tartare Pizza and Tilapia with Green Chili Sauce.

The interior has been renovated nicely – and the establishment is brighter and more welcoming (the space is also available to rent out for private parties and more). They’re having two seatings this New Year’s Eve (6pm and 8pm) as well. More to come a bit later.

I’m sushi obsessed and now I’m addicted to this place. I get annoyed bc I work and live in Hoboken and I’m sick of every restaurant having the same menu! I came here with my parents (who can be food snobs) and we were all really impressed. We ordered a bunch of food and everything was nothing short of amazing.

We ordered the tuna tar tar pizza, tiger roll, sea bass entree, crab cakes and the aloha roll.

I liked how you can substitute brown rice in your rolls. I few days later I came back with some friends and sat at the bar. They have a really interesting drink menu- strawberry jalapeno martini??? and a white wine that was made to be paired with sushi. Bartender was super friendly.

Great addition to Hoboken! I’ll be back.

I love sushi, but a few of the entrees look really good, too. Can’t wait to try this place out.

Was there over the weekend and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The fish tanks are beautiful. Great place for sushi lovers but if you are or have a friend who doesn’t love sushi, they can eat here too which is really nice. The crabcakes are delicious! Looking forward to returning.

Looking forward to checking out the renovation- the former establishment really was too dark for me. Sushi places are more appealing to me when they are bright and clean.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
