Family Photo Workshops
Each Saturday from June 9th through the 23rd.
Family Photo Workshops and Family Concert
This spring, the Museum’s family fun workshop program continues with a series of Family Photography Workshops, on Saturdays, June 9, 16 and 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hoboken Historical Museum, 1301 Hudson Street. In three fun-filled workshops, families will learn how to document Hoboken history using their own digital cameras. This program is a new offering that combines walking tours with a photography workshop. Before setting out to document Hoboken, families will study the current exhibition to understand what makes visual imagery a great way to tell a story and record history.
Local photographer and art instructor Jaime Schlesinger will lead participants on walking tours through town to take photos with their family’s digital camera (or a disposable camera on loan from the Museum), followed by editing sessions, bookmaking, and a final celebration on June 23 to honor the work of each family.
The final session on June 23rd will be capped off by a free concert by popular local musician Dave Lambert and friends, who will play favorite songs from the 1970s at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate the spirit of the exhibit that inspired the photos.
The workshop is free of charge, but space is limited, so registration is required. Please call (201) 656-2240, option 5, for more information, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
