Hefty rain potential this weekend
Heavy downpours a possibility in Hoboken
Weather forecasters are warning residents in the northeast to be aware of a potentially wet and flooding rain storm later this weekend.
The storm is still to our south and west, with no specific prediction as to where, when and how much rain will occur near Hoboken. However, any area that happens to get caught under a severe section of the storm will have to endure downpours and potential flooding. Some experts say that localized rain totals of up to 4 inches are possible. I’ll do my best to send out notices if severe weather is imminent.
Those concerned with the last flooding we had in Hoboken during a summer shower that lasted less than 2 hours, should note that the next high tides for our area are around 9pm tonight, and approximately 9:30am and 10pm on Sunday.
Cross you fingers we get lucky – and don’t have to deal with that again!
Kinda nice to know that dog poop isn’t a problem today, at least not in comparison to the trails of human feces around town.

You can have the best of two worlds, some mormons have multiple wifes so why can’t you have 2 husbands? Convert to the church of the lost souls tire & muffler shop where everything is possible and it will be done. Give white trash aka wiskeytango a shot, you have nothing to lose but a little self respect, come on.pretty please.
Well, you need a place to sleep so understood.Iām already quite happily married and, unfortunately, my husband is a fan of escaped68ā²s āamusingā posts about our relā¦ationā¦shiā¦:: Barfs in a hat ::
The hillbillies have nothing on the pineys, I don’t think they have a dental plan. They have been there for 100’s of years. I cut across some area down there once while in fort dix very very scarey.
one of my sons looking to buy a few years ago..corner property..chit heads there cars on cinder blocks next door..can we define white trash in a high priced area such as barnaget? it looked like the beverly hilllbillys or the movie deliverence,,a few teeth missing. did not buy for my son is a hoboken wack job..could not believe the shims with the suvs and wallets with the chains including tattos on them and their chubby heffers.. my question was why does the tide matter? only way i could see the tide coming in to play is if the water went in to the ocean but the outlets were below the high tide mark.
answer..for three hundred or more years Hoboken below sea level..If anyone believed in moronic campaign promises such as a solution..Moses is busy lately..As the queen said the Pumps the pumps my kingdome for two pumps and a kayak,One submarine, and three skin divers..It’s been a way of life for hundreds of years. The floating turds and the water bugs after the water subsides…Keep depending on NJ Transit and the PA…Sandbags on the piers may help..Again this town is not a resort area…Not a utopia for transits or homeowners…This is what it is..We need more open space and parks..Lord help us š„
my question was why does the tide matter? only way i could see the tide coming in to play is if the water went in to the ocean but the outlets were below the high tide mark.
@personalt – low tide comes in around 4am tomorrow morning – then high tide again around 10:30am
10:50pm: Transformer explosion near 11th & Hudson knocks power out at Maxwell Place.
No need to remind anyone that:
1. It’s raining really hard
2. It’s high tide
3. Half of Hoboken is under water (in the usual spots).
Imagine this was a drinking game?
We’d all be passed out!
Anyone know how the tide comes in to play?
I have owned property on Monroe for about 7 years and this is what I normally see…
Any time the rain is more then about an inch a hour for an extended amount of time the sewers back up. After an extended ran of maybe 4 or more inches the back yards go also become under water. In that case it appears the whole water table just rises.
What is interesting is that the level can stay steady for hours and in one shot it will just drop really fast.
I feel like the tide somehow stops the sewers from draining but was wondering if anyone knows more details.
