Hoboken Police and Fire Action Blotter 2011 Hoboken411 Tuesday - Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 8/9/2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Tuesday, August 9, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 6:15pm: Flooding Photo Gallery
Residents are sending pics in of the flooding. Legal Beans flooded again, and many areas downtown as well as on the west side. Depending on if there’s any damage there, I doubt they’d want to come back. Horrific.

  • 5:20pm: Hoboken Floods – OEM useless
Hoboken quickly entered into a semi-emergency state this afternoon – as flooding ravaged the city, manhole covers popped off and more. However, Joel Mestre and the Hoboken “OEM” department did nothing. Your property tax dollars down the drain.

  • 4:50pm: Hoboken streets painted – the WRONG way!
Hoboken Police was dispatched to the area of 3rd & Jefferson Streets – because a painting crew over there had supposedly dumped paint in the sewer. However, with the flooding, that paint has now come back up all over the place. We don’t want our streets painted THAT way!
  • 4:40pm: Flooding
A brief, yet intense summer shower caused flooding all over Hoboken.
  • 11:00am: Decomposing Body!
You read about the Compulsive Hoarder that was dead in his apartment downtown first on Hoboken411.

More updates to come…

Serious flooding in town. It seemed almost every corner west of Washington street was drowning.

Sorry to hear about ‘the hoarder’. I don’t think the hoarding is the problem here so much as this guy’s lack of someone to check in on him. I guess he was lonely-lonely, not lonely like someone without the boyfriend or life of their dreams. But, well, he doesn’t have much to worry about that or anything anymore. RIP.
