Hoboken crime and fire action: July 25, 2011
Various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls for July 25, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.
- 8pm Daily Double:
- 12th & Madison – reports that a female was whacked in the head with a 2×4. After an extensive search, Hoboken EMS found her a block away, and reported that it was a “local” (homeless) and was drunk.
- A&P Parking Lot – passerby reported that a black male, dreadlocks, black t-shirt, about 6′ tall – was engaging in “lewd behavior.” He’s still at large.
- 6:30pm: Tree Down!
Reports of a “tree down” near 2nd & Washington Streets. (Just a large branch really) A miracle – for once it’s not a drunk! - 11:00am: Dead doggie
Hoboken Police responded to the rear of 4th & Harrison on reports of a dead dog in a garbage bag in a dumpster. The Hoboken Health Dept. was called, but they “didn’t want anything to do with it,” so animal control was contacted instead. Not sure how the dog died – but let’s presume it was of old age. What are city residents supposed to do when the family pooch dies? - 10:40am: International 911 mistake
HPD responded to the Robotic Parking Garage at 916 Garden St. to a “911 hangup” (cops have to respond, even if the call doesn’t get completed). They found out it was a mistake, as one of the employees screwed up making an international phone call. Someone better OPRA those phone records – who were they calling on property taxpayers dime?
