Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 8/4/2011
Hoboken crime and fire action: August 4, 2011
- 2:15am (8/5/2011): “Man Down”
Near 6th & Washington, reports of a “man down” in the street. That is the kind way of saying “dopey drunk over-did it.”
- 1:45am (8/5/2011): McFight
Not sure how to make fights like the one happening right now at McDonald’s interesting anymore. “Two all-idiotic buffoons, silly sauce, bravado, let us fight in a fast food joint with other seedy drunks watching us?”
- 1:15am (8/5/2011): Group Assault
A man said he was assaulted by four Hispanics in a white Mazda at 2nd and Hudson Streets. HPD stopped the car before it left town at 14th and Garden.
1:25am Update: The victim positively ID’d a suspect, and filed a criminal complaint. This led to the arrest of one of the four individuals involved.
- 11:50pm: More Cash Register Robberies!
A few Hoboken residents witnessed two men kick in the door of SoHo Nails at 1214 Washington St., and proceeded to smash the cash register and leave the store with money, change bundled up in their shirts. One Hispanic male, mid to late 30’s with teardrop tattoo on his face, and another male are the suspects. HPD is in the housing projects now with one of the reported suspects, and is waiting for the witness identify the actor. This is the fourth such incident in the past couple weeks. Stores should NOT leave money in the registers!
12:20am Update: The witness was able to positively ID one of the suspects, who resides on First Street near Willow Ave. HPD arrested him and brought him to Police HQ for processing.
- 10:45pm: Reckless Riders
HPD noticed three nutty motorcycle drivers acting in a reckless manner downtown on Washington Street. Running red lights, revving engines, etc. They managed to pull the show-off trio at 4th & Wash, and issued a summons to one of them for expired license. Bringing unnecessary attention to yourself in public is recipe for disaster.
- 5:45pm: Distressed Boat
A “distressed” boat phoned 911 to say they were having issues (ran out of fuel) near Hoboken’s shore line. NYPD harbor patrol as well as a chopper unit and Hoboken PD went to investigate these troubled aquatic fun-seekers. No, Cake Boss will not be re-creating this mundane scene whatsoever…
- 5:10pm: Bitchin’ Cat Fight
The fella in the lime-green outfit apparently had two ladies fighting over him downtown near the PATH, and at one point, the woman in the black dress punched the lady with the white pants to the ground. A brief scuffle ensued, and the threesome split up (the white-pants lady walking north, the pimpin’ fella and his angry lady proceeded to the trains). Some transit officers came by a few minutes later and had nothing left to investigate. They charge pay-per view for some events like this!
More updates to come…
