Summer is here in Hoboken, NJ
What does summer mean to you in Hoboken?
But did you know there are three kinds of “summers?”
- Astronomical Summer: That is today through September 21st. Today, the northern hemisphere is tilted closest to the sun (23.5 degrees). Our calendar “seasons” are based on this.
- Meteorological Summer: From a weather perspective, June, July and August are considered the warmest months of the year.
- Solar Summer: Solar summer is actually May, June and July – the three months with the most daylight.
However, the bad news is that each day until six months from now will get shorter and shorter until the winter solstice on December 22nd at 12:30am.
Amazingly – they had a couple inches of SNOW in Colorado yesterday!
