Shining Nails Salon Gone

3/24/2009 Update:

Yea, I know – they’ve been doomed for a while – just finally “closing the chapter” on Shining Nails here. I guess the “renovation” last year didn’t help ’em one bit.

OK – What do you think will fill the spot at 410 Washington? When?

1/25/2008 Update:

One reader contacted Hoboken411 to ask “what is happening with Shining Nails?”

I stopped by today to see an Asian guy working on the exterior, and peeked inside. Seems like they’re renovating.

I asked him what was happening with the joint and he was completely incapable of all forms of communication. I asked first in plain English.. (blank stare), then I said “do you speak English?” (Which most people can usually answer “no,” even if the don’t speak English).. nothing. Blank stare again. I then used universal hand gestures and symbols… (blank stare again.) I was going to check for heart beat at this point, but I opted to snap a photo and go on my merry way instead.

My bet is that it’ll stay a nail salon, just renovated. Whether it’s new owners or the same, your guess is as good as mine.

They actually relocate to the shopping plaza on 3rd and Jackson. Same owner and staff. New location may seem a little far from Washington St but they have more space now. For those who wonder “where did it go?” There they are.

any time a nail salon or real estate brokerage dies, it’s a victory for culture and civilization in hoboken. it increases the odds of something of substance actually occupying the premises. cheers!

counterfeit luxury goods business is falling like a rock. the illegal asian sweatshop seamstresses are losing their value immediately. look for a hike in prostitution in NY as these indentured illegals are forced to earn their keep somehow. and a spike in drug trade as well. the mexicans don’t have a lock on that market up here, as they do in the SW states.

Those theives took my money for 2 gift certs at Christmas time! They knew they were leaving and stole money – I am certain I am not the only one they did this to! It was a mere $30 dollars but still it was my money and a gift to boot!

I thought maybe they were the salon owners who were opening bloom spa and nails – anyone know…
