Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 6/1/2011

Hoboken crime and fire action: June 1, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Wednesday, June 1, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 9:15pm: Possible Handgun Action
A resident from 917 Clinton St. phoned Hoboken Police saying a man (white male, with blue baseball cap on) was knocking on doors in the building – asking if a certain individual lived there. The resident said no, and the man walked to other apartments in the building. He said that the man had what appeared to be a handgun in his possession. Wonder if it’s a real world bounty hunter – or a man with a vendetta?
  • 6:05pm: Street Fight
Reports of a street fight at 4th & Adams. Must be the hot weather and the dud of a tornado watch that set ’em off.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the entire NYC area. After three days of 90-plus humid weather – severe thunderstorms can pop up anywhere.
5:35pm Update: Seems like the current line of storms missed us. Not sure if any new ones will develop. Hopefully not, but will update if warranted:

  • 2:45pm: Motorcycle accident with injuries
Reports of a motorcycle accident with injuries at 8th & Monroe. This was a HIT & RUN – a white van or SUV (hopefully it wasn’t a city vehicle) hit the rider, and fled south on Monroe. Motorcycles haven’t been good in Hoboken lately – with a fatal accident this past weekend.

More updates to come…
