Hoboken Police and Fire Action Blotter 2011 Hoboken411 Tuesday - Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 5/24/2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Tuesday, May 24, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 12:55am (5/25/2011): Unresponsive Female
Reports of a woman down on the sidewalk, unresponsive – on Park Ave., between 5th & 6th. HPD and EMS arrived on scene – but the woman appears to have wandered off. The boyfriend, who is “frantically” trying to find her, said she was intoxicated. But boy, if tonight was was a Facebook user, they certainly haven’t become “fans” of women.
  • 1:05am update: The woman apparently popped up near 4th & Park “all bloodied up.”

  • 11:30pm: Female Assaulted
A woman called HPD and said she was assaulted by a male on a bicycle near 12th & Willow Ave. The man, described as Asian, with short hair, apparently fled eastbound towards Washington Street. Thank god we don’t have bike lanes for criminals.
  • 6:00pm: “Box full of kittens”
A concerned passerby phoned HPD saying there was a kid with a “box full of kittens” near the Shoprite Supermarket. One officer had already run into the kid who had found the tiny pussy cats. The parent as well as Liberty Humane Society was called. LHS eventually arrived and took the cats into their care. The phrase “box full of kittens” is just made me chuckle.
  • 2:30pm: Pedestrian Struck
A 13-year old was struck by a car at 13th & Garden Streets. No life-threatening injury reported.

If she was on Park between 5th & 6th, and then turned up on Park & 4th. How frantically was he really looking for her?

I live on that block. My neighbor has children about that age.
