Hoboken Police and Fire Blotter: 5/11/2011
Hoboken crime and fire action: May 11, 2011
An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Wednesday, May 11, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.
- 2:50am (5/12/2011): Fire investigation
There’s been a smell of smoke in Hoboken for the past half hour – and now HFD is en route to 220 Madison Street for alarms activated.
- 10:40pm: Disorderly Group
HPD received many calls about a loud group disrupting the peach near 320 Marshall Drive – tossing around garbage cans, etc. At least they weren’t smashing car mirrors. (It pays to look on the bright side.)
- 6:45pm: Another abandoned dog
I was approached by resident earlier today (just before 5pm) and was notified that a tan dog (breed unknown – approx 15-20lbs) was left tied to a fence in the neighborhood of 6th & Adams Streets. I told the resident to send 411 a photo – and call the HPD. Well, he called HPD, but they didn’t look too hard and marked the case as “unfounded.” If you’re missing a dog you might want to be aware of this.
- Earlier today: Boat adrift found
Hoboken Police (and state police) have received many calls about a “boat adrift” in the Hudson River over the past couple days. Well, HPD: Here it is, in the inlet near the Hudson Tea Building. Appears that someone was nice enough to tie the busted and ratty boat to the wall so it doesn’t float out there anymore. You might want to drive up here and take a look. God only knows what may be inside.
