Hoboken Cove Boathouse – 2011 Season
Paul Bayliss of the Hoboken Cove Boathouse makes this announcement…
Hoboken Cove Boathouse gets ready for 2011 kayaking season
As the warmer weather arrives we are crawling out of hibernation and getting ready to open our free public kayaking program for 2011.
The program starts in June when the river water warms and our planned dates are now available on our website, so please take a look at www.hobokencoveboathouse.org!
As always we are looking for folks to help us put people on the river this Summer! Even a few hours is a huge help. We are also looking for skilled kayakers to help us run river trips. They must have many years experience on this part of the Hudson river. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to volunteer.
Our volunteer coordinator, Wendy, recently moved to Europe to work on her novel, so I’ll be taking over the position to ensure that we have the people in place for a great season this summer.
Upcoming Hoboken Boathouse Events
- Wednesday May 18th from 6:30pm to 8pm, we will be hosting a social get together at the boathouse for volunteers to meet each other before the season starts. This is an ideal opportunity for new volunteers to come down and meet the old hands over a glass of non-alcoholic fruit punch and snacks.
- We will also be running two volunteer training sessions, Saturday May 21st and Sunday May 29th. Both sessions will run from 1pm until 4pm and will cover everything from waivers, Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs), getting people safely on and off the water, to on the water rescue techniques.
So, save the dates and come down to see us at the boathouse!
