Nearly 100 year old poster found at PATH

Work at Hoboken PATH reveals a piece of history

Did you notice this poster on the wall of the Hoboken Path Station this week?

Retro American Red Cross war Employment poster at Hoboken NJ PATH Station

Hoboken poster circa 1917

American Red Cross US Employment Service Put Fighting Blood in your Business poster thumbHoboken411 reader Tom (who works for the PATH) sent in the photo and thought it was interesting.

“They had taken down part of a wall by the main stairway leading down from Hudson Place. The image is of the poster that was glued to the old tile wall that was behind the one that was removed. It’s circa 1917.”

Click the image on the right to see what the original poster looks like.

You can find restored originals on the web for upwards of $450!

Apparently, American soldiers needed all the help they could get finding work after finishing their tour of duties in the military.

Wonder what else can be revealed in that PATH station?

There was a man who lived in the same bldg that i lived in who was a conducter for HUDSON MANHATTAN TRAINS aka the tubes before the PA took over. He overjoyed he said now my pay checks won’t bounce, the workers got their checks and ran to the bank to cash their checks before the money ran out.
The train car had some sort of woven bamboo fabric and were some thing out of a 3rd world country, scary.
