Cops: Hoboken sex fiend busted

HOBOKEN — When a woman being followed last week by a creepy man early in the morning displayed quick thinking and dialed 911 on her cell phone, she may have helped cops bust a sexual predator they suspect in three incidents in the Mile Square City over the past few weeks.

Shenoda Awad, 24, of Newkirk Street in Jersey City, was arrested in that incident, on March 6, and charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and resisting arrest, police said.

He was arrested again yesterday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal restraint in connection with an earlier incident, in which he is accused of shoving a woman up against a fence and trying to take off her clothes, police said.

And, cops say, Awad is also a suspect in a third incident, in which an 18-year-old woman fought off an attacker who grabbed her around the waist and tried to kiss her, cops said.

Saw the full article in the Jersey Journal today. Sounds like quite a character. He was carrying at least three things that could be used as weapons, but they were all made of junk — wood, tile, broken glass.

I’d say he was homeless, but there is an address listed for him. So that leaves just plain old crazy.

Hey, let me take my wooden shank and go molest women at the park. I’m sure no one will notice.

Why’d they let him out the 2nd time? Maybe they should keep him locked up the third time around.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
