“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Martin Luther King Jr. has become an important place for Hoboken residents to connect and share important information. This is why I want your readers to be some of the first to know I am announcing my candidacy for 5th Ward Councilperson.

Two years ago I ran for City Council-at-Large (which represents the entire City). My campaign was focused on principle rather than politics and I received a tremendous amount of positive support from all types of voters including young, old, “born and raised” or “yuppies”.

After the election, the Hoboken Reporter wrote “[Delea] received an extremely strong showing for a political newcomer. Internet marketing executive Scott Delea obtained [1,336] votes. With little budget but a strong work ethic, Delea was able to beat out the entire slates of Smith and Russo, which is no small feat.”

On May 8th, Hoboken voters will have the chance to vote for a new councilperson for the 5th Ward. It is time to elect someone who isn’t afraid to speak up and fight for more transparent, effective government and has a track record of business/community success. It is time for a change and I am prepared to provide the new, proactive, positive leadership our City desperately needs.

I intend to leverage my business and community experience to get things done in City Hall. My business career includes being one of the original employees of DigitalGrit, which is a New Jersey-based company voted one of the “Best Places to Work in America”. I currently serve as President of Adverb Media Inc. which is the 125 employee parent-company of DigitalGrit.

Over four years ago, I founded a not-for-profit in Hoboken called Party With Purpose. Party With Purpose (otherwise known as PWP) has donated $100,000 to worthy local charities such as the Hoboken Boys and Girls Club, Jubilee Center and Alzheimer’s Association.

I feel these experiences make me uniquely qualified to represent all elements of the 5th Ward and well prepared to provide the leadership the 5th Ward so richly deserves.

If you or your readers have questions or comments, I would love to hear from you. Please email me directly at and be sure to visit my website and blog at Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to meeting everyone on the campaign trail!

All the best,

Scott Delea

Against Roberts:

1) Castellano (but was a Russo support without question–now really good with him in Jail)

2nd) Toss up who is who. They’re all vying for Stack’s Support

3rd) Mike Russo (Raia is on and off with Roberts depending on what building he wants to build, bu has a good record of supporting kids issues in the 1980’s)

4th) Dawn Zimmer. Not looking for a Job. Not even oner. as opposed to the rest who all have 1 or more

5th) Cunningham (Private Banker) Needs Nothing , Perry may be opposed to Roberts but is a Ramos guys 100%

Cricco. Too long. 3 jobs with the state enough said.

Was Russo. Jumped to Robets , got a job on the school’s construction corp board. (you knw the boar that overspent so hoboken lost its Abbot funds)

6th) Toss Up Foley was on the zooning board and never met a variance he didn’t like.

Nino, opposes the mayur every 3rd lunar eclipse then votes his way. Plus parks in the street while renting out his private house garages.

Billy Noonan, Quit the Housing Authority after a few moths, (Republican) and nevr served on any other city board. Remains to be seen

Oh yes and runs the Taxpayer funded ST Pat Parade cleanup

Beth Mason is an Independant some say is secretly aligned with Russo and Castellano.

Why it’s being hidden who knows.

Her Group Vote Hoboken is announcing who they are supporting on Palm Sunday April 1st .

At Willie Mc Brides

Old Hoboken Tradition: No Politics on Palm Sunday.

But then again it is April Fool’s day too.

Rosenberg is usually friends with Mason but he runs with Raia so maybe she has two horses in the 1st ward race?

I think She’ll stick to the second war. That’s where Robert’s will dump a boatload of cash to beat her back.

Better question is of the list below, who is AGAINST Roberts & Co? That’s who I want to vote for (well, I can only vote in my ward, but you get the drift)…

First Ward: Councilwoman Theresa Castellano and Ron Rosenberg.

Second Ward: Elizabeth Mason, Louis Picardo and Richard Tremitiedi.

Third Ward: Daniel Barron, Joanne Perkins, Frank Raia and Councilman Michael Russo.

Fourth Ward: Campos, Freddie Frazier, Anthony Mussara and Dawn Zimmer.

Fifth Ward: Peter “Perry” Belfiore, Councilman Michael T. Cricco, Peter Cunningham and Scott Delay.

Sixth Ward: Thomas Foley, Councilman Angelo “Nino” Giacchi and William Noonan.

Mayor David Roberts and at-large Councilmembers Peter Cammarano, Terry LaBruno and Ruben Ramos Jr. are not up for re-election. The only incumbent who did not file to run for re-election is Second Ward Councilman Richard DelBoccio, who said he is retiring.

What bar does he own? I want to know if I should add another to my “avoid at all costs” list.

C’mon Scott, Those pics aren’t even in the 5th ward!

And aren’t you are Bar owner too? Actually you do let good groups use it and did donate it for good purposes , but you supported Roberts wthout EVER giving Carol or me a good reason.

As a homeowner you should be more accountable.

Or was it our stance that bars should pay for trash pick up?
