Sunday Hoboken Funnies

Snow removal mayhem

Crews are all over Hoboken dealing with the massive snow mounds that pepper the Mile Square. Many of the Snow Emergency Routes are being cleared – as well as spot cleanup at various other areas. Dozens of cars towed all throughout the weekend, as well. Some logical questions might be:

  1. How out of tune are the owners of such cars that they had no clue they ran the risk of getting towed?
  2. Did the city provide enough notice?
  3. Was any effort made to notify these drivers so they could avoid the steep fines associated?

Inconsiderate or just a consequence of Mother Nature?

Found this submission from Hoboken411 reader Eric quite funny:

“These bozo’s pulled there car into the middle of the street and cleaned it off with a serving spoon and tennis racket.

Now there is a huge pile of snow in the middle of Garden Street! Arrgh! People here are so inconsiderate!”

Snowman with Attitude

Hoboken411 reader Renee got a kick out of this snowman:

“Located at the corner of 6th and Bloomfield: Hoboken snowman with a bit of attitude and a cup of joe.”

Not so funny Sunday for this guy

Just adding to the hit and run carnage in Hoboken – this guy found his SUV with the bumper knocked loose on 10th Street this afternoon.

Coming soon to Hoboken: “Corner Insurance Claim Processing Centers…”

Why doesn’t Hoboken use those electronic message signs around town? Warn drivers about the strict parking rules to avoid tickets.

Why don’t people who have cars check the city’s website or Hoboken411 to get the newest information? The city is not your parent and I don’t want to increase taxes for frivolous electronic message signs when owners can check online to see what their responsibilities are.[quote comment=”202730″]Why doesn’t Hoboken use those electronic message signs around town? Would be nice to see some pictures of $40,000 police SUVs chasing parked cars. That’s is what has been happening all day on Willow Ave.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
