Election Information

4/9/2007 Update:

Made an updated Ward Map in Google that includes latest known polling locations.

See the Google Map here: Hoboken411 Ward Map and Polling Locations.

You can find out where your voting location is here. Note that it still has an outdated polling location listing Kealy School instead of Church Towers.

Here’s some interesting information that may be of use for the upcoming elections on May 8th.

For starters, below is a ward map of Hoboken indicating which ward you live in. This is the only crappy map I could find online, after searching for over an hour. I tried the US Census Bureau, the Hudson County site and many others for a better, cleaner version. Does anyone have a better copy?

Also, I considered making my own map using a .kml map overlay in Google Earth, but decided against it at the moment, because I’d like to link many other things to the overlay, like other statistics and all candidate information. Any expert at Google Earth that can volunteer their services?

Update: Thanks to 411 reader James, who was kind enough to make a Google Earth overlay for the Ward map! Welcome to 2007, Hoboken! (see map and download at the bottom).

Additionally, I noticed others talking about even long-time residents who still have yet to register to vote.

I did a little research, and it appears that according to the 2000 census, there were over 10,000 un-registered (non) voters in Hoboken. Talk about the not taking advantage of the ability to make a difference in this town.

We need to have something similar to MTV’s “Rock the Vote“. I’d reckon a happy hour theme (7 days a week till election day) would help increase our number of registered voters.

Download this .kmz file and you’ll have this handy ward map built into your Google Earth program!

There will be many who will choose not to vote this election.
The scams, the people going through other people’s home areas
and lying and fabricating and slandering anybody who disagrees with them will be found out, and the so called Dems in power will take a hard hit for the lies and distortions which have already hit the fan. I predict it…

The political machines will be working hard to stay in power for another 4 years.

You have to decide if you want another four years of the same sleazy headlines and scams about Hoboken government or you can vote these guys out.

Tomorrow vote for the future of Hoboken.

to all whom this applies, make a note that the Calabro school (6th ward) is still closed.
If that is your polling place, you need to go to the 401 Garden street-Demarest School location instead.
