Hoboken crime and fire action: January 21, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Friday, January 21, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 11:30pm “Man Down”
Oh brother. Reports of a “man down” near 363 First Street. Either drunk, slipped, or both. Thank god we have good HPD, HFD and EMS in this town. I guess that gives you “free reign” to drink yourself into a stupor?
  • 8:15pm Justice Re-connected
Remember that illegally parked Hertz on Demand Connect Car from yesterday? Well – during this latest shift – the HPD recognized how ridiculous it was that it was still blatantly ignoring the rules – and towed it away. Whoops!
  • 12:10pm Have your paperwork in order!
Parked car being towed from in front of 311 11th Street. HPD says “expired registration.” Don’t administrative forms and other paperwork suck?
  • 11:00am Minor Accident
8th and Garden – fender bender, no injuries reported. I still don’t understand how anyone crashes in this town with all these straight roads. Gotta be the smart phones – Has to be!
  • 10:45am Hit and Run
A 1990 black Toyota dings a Range Rover near Newark & River – and leaves the scene. Witnesses noted the tag number and called HPD. The insurance deductible must be higher than the car is worth!

More updates to come…
