Winter Weather Advisory: 1/18/2011
Flooding Rain, possible ice for Hoboken
In what will be the first day back to work for most of the “working class” here in Hoboken – Tomorrow looks like a messy weather situation.
In the overnight hours, some light snow (an inch or so) will coat the area with a brief changeover to sleet and freezing rain – then all rain during the day on Tuesday. While many of the sewer grates around Hoboken appear cleared, the warmer temps and snow melt may cause some minor flooding in areas.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued until 1pm on Tuesday.
The National Weather Services concluded this is a “complicated mixed precipitation event,” and “BEARS CLOSE WATCHING AS EVEN THE SLIGHTEST CHANGE IN THE THERMAL FIELDS CAN TIP THE SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATION BALANCE EITHER WAY.”
Exercise caution during the morning rush one way or another!
