New Structure Uptown

A few people had mentioned this site between 14th and 15th Streets and Clinton and Grand Streets. Not sure if this is old news already, but some readers were curious what it may be, and even wondered if it was the proposed movie theater that has been discussed.

Looks more like it may be some kind of warehouse or even a bus garage. Anyone have any ideas?

PS, sorry if the updates are kind of thin today. Still run-down with the flu.
Nice job Charlie. You beat me to posting, and included even more numbers. Well done.
Do I get taco from the truck?

I certainly agree with that. But, wasn’t traffic worse late 90’s than it is now? (I’ll admit I gave up and currently don’t leave the house until 9:00 AM so I may not really know.) I remember that in the mornings north bound traffic would be backed to 8th street at times. I wish they would build a road from Park and 16th to Harbor Blvd, by passing the bridge.

With all of this growth you would think that with the proposed NJT train going under the North End of Hoboken in 09 that they would put a stop in!!!!!

Also, a movie theater would be much taller.

It’s pretty clear that it’s a bus depot or repair facility. The lack of columns, the ceiling height (it’s not two story, the 2nd floor would’ve been built before the roof) and most important – the wide curbcut driveways. The curbcuts look existing, which means it was already being used for bus parking, which I think it was, IIRC.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
