Hoboken Water Main Break: 710 Madison

1/10/2011:

Not a joke! Another Hoboken Water Main Break!

This time at Madison Street between 7th and 8th (710 Madison to be exact). The hits keep on rolling!

Hoboken Police said that water is coming out of a 30-foot stretch of the street – and seemingly growing. They’re calling in license plates now – attempting to notify – and will tow cars if necessary.

Does anyone have an idea of what the average costs for repairing a water main break costs the city?

if they’re gonna keep building condos with sprinkler systems and not upgrade the water lines that feed them…well I’m sure you can figure it out – burn baby burn, high-rise inferno, burn baby burn, burn that mother down! water main break = low water pressure + high-rise fire = DISASTER!!! 😯

I’m astonished how rapidly these pipes are failing. How many more will hoboken suffer through before the end of the month? One, three, TEN?

These stop gap repairs will not solve the problem. It’s time to think about a more proactive approach.
