MLK – Sing Out for Justice


martinlutherking1964.jpgThis afternoon, the Hoboken Charter School will celebrate Martin Luther King’s life and work with a civil rights exhibit and concert at All Saints Parish, 707 Washington Street, from 4 to 6:30 pm.

At this fifth annual “Sing Out for Justice” concert local musicians join students to perform traditional gospel, folk and freedom songs. Scheduled artists include Gene Turonis, Perry Robinson, David Plakke, Rob Harari, Abbe Rivers, John Keim, the jazz band “Playing for Keeps” and the gospel group “Tones of Joy.” Student work and exhibits exploring the civil rights movement will be on display revolving around this year’s theme of CONNECTIONS ’07: Putting the Movement back into Civil Rights!

A donation of $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family is suggested.
